HR Project Manager – Strategic Delivery Lead
About Freshfields
Freshfields is a leading international law firm advising the world’s most influential businesses, financial institutions, and governments on their most complex, high-stakes challenges. With offices globally and a culture built on exceptional talent and genuine collaboration, we prioritise a people-centred approach. Our HR function acts as a strategic partner across all practice groups and business services, driving an ambitious, global, and evolving people agenda.

We are seeking an experienced HR Project Manager who brings a consulting mindset, sharp structured, analytical skills, and the ability to thrive at both strategic and operational levels to help accelerate the delivery of a large, diverse HR initiative portfolio across the firm.
You will collaborate directly with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and HR Centres of Excellence to execute projects spanning:
- Organisational design
- Workforce planning
- Change management
- Talent strategy
- Continuous improvement
Additionally, this role will actively contribute to exploring how AI can transform and enhance the work of our HRBP community—an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to shape the future of HR, not just observe it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
