Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

This is a high-impact, dual-accountability role designed for a strategic HR professional who can balance site-specific business partnering with national leadership. You will serve as the HR Business Partner for the Leicester Business Unit (MT-UK), driving performance through tailored people strategies, while simultaneously acting as the Country HR Lead for the UK.

Operating within a global HR model (including Centers of Excellence and Shared Services), you will be a key driver of our ongoing HR transformation and the local implementation of Workday.

HR Business Partner - MT-UK

  • Strategic Partnering: Partner with the Unit Leadership Team to translate business strategy into tangible people priorities.
  • Organisational Effectiveness: Drive workforce planning, talent development, and organisational design.
  • Leadership Coaching: Coach leaders on performance, leadership behaviours, and team effectiveness.
  • Engagement: Lead employee engagement and retention initiatives to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Employee Relations: Manage ER cases, including investigations, grievances, and disciplinary actions, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
  • Programme Implementation: Implement global and regional HR programmes locally, ensuring they are relevant to the business context.

Country HR Lead - UK

  • Regional Liaison: Act as the link between regional/divisional HR and UK units, ensuring alignment across HR domains (ER, TA, L&D, Compensation).
  • Policy Harmonisation: Drive the consistency of HR policies, processes, and practices across the country to ensure a unified employee experience.
  • Compliance: Lead compliance and risk management in strict accordance with UK labour law and GDPR regulations.
  • Governance: Chair the UK Country HR Council and foster collaboration across dispersed HR teams.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage UK based HR Operations, including payroll & benefits, learning & development, matrix management for TA services. Support effective HR service delivery in partnership with CoEs and offshore HR Operations.
  • Digital Transformation: Support the rollout and adoption of Workday and standardised HR processes, driving simplification and reducing local deviations from global standards.
  • Data-Driven Insight: Leverage HR data and analytics to inform decision-making and strengthen collaboration across HRBPs, CoEs, and Shared Services.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Experience: Significant experience as an HR Business Partner, ideally within a matrixed or global organisation.
  • Legislation: Comprehensive knowledge of UK labour law and its practical application.
  • Change Management: Proven ability to manage change, specifically regarding HR transformations or system implementations (Workday experience is a distinct advantage).
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data to drive people strategies and process improvements.
  • Qualifications: CIPD qualification (Level 7 preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
