HRIS Implementation Consultant

About the Opportunity

Flat Rock Technology has entered into a strategic partnership with our client to deliver HRIS, Payroll, and Global Workforce implementation services across Central and Eastern Europe. As part of our growing Professional Services practice, you’ll work alongside our client’s global teams to deliver world-class customer implementations while helping build Flat Rock’s regional consulting capability.

This is an opportunity to join a nearly expanding delivery function, where you’ll help shape how enterprise HRIS and Payroll implementations are delivered, combining the scale and sophistication of a global technology leader with the agility and ownership of a fast-growing consulting practice.

You will be employed by Flat Rock Technology and embedded within this strategic delivery partnership.


About the Role

Our client, backed by a $17.3 billion valuation and $1B in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in just over five years, is transforming how organisations hire, manage, and pay talent globally. As an HRIS Implementation Consultant, you will:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients
  • Lead successful implementations of HRIS and payroll solutions
  • Support from discovery through go-live and post-implementation support
  • Partner with clients to understand their business processes, provide best-practice guidance, configure solutions, and ensure successful adoption

This is a highly client-facing consulting role requiring:

  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Implementation expertise
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable HR, payroll, and integrated technology solutions

Responsibilities

Client Consulting & Discovery

  • Lead client discovery workshops to assess:
    • HR, payroll, workforce management systems
    • Related system landscapes (including finance, identity platforms)
  • Provide consultative guidance on HRIS and payroll best practices, optimising operating models while maximising platform value
  • Conduct implementation readiness assessments
  • Build trusted relationships with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, Identity, and senior business stakeholders
  • Support pre-sales discovery workshops through:
    • Implementation expertise
    • Solution design participation
    • Customer presentations
  • Identify and escalate opportunities, including:
    • System integrations (HRIS, payroll, finance, identity)
    • Further business expansion
    • Referrals to Sales teams

Implementation Delivery

  • Manage end-to-end HRIS and payroll implementation projects through:
    • Discovery → Configuration → Testing → Go-live → Hypercare
  • Drive solution configuration tailored to client requirements
  • Gather, validate, and document:
    • Functional & technical requirements
  • Ensure data migration accuracy, completeness, and integrity
  • Oversee system integrations (including APIs, middleware)
  • Facilitate implementation governance meetings, providing:
    • Regular status updates
    • Risk management
    • Stakeholder communication

Payroll Implementation

  • Lead payroll implementation activities, including:
    • Payroll process design and configuration
    • Statutory setup and payroll calendars
    • Payroll readiness assessments
  • Coordinate:
    • Payroll testing (including User Acceptance Testing, parallel payroll runs)
    • Payroll reconcilations
  • Guide clients through:
    • Go-live activities
    • Structured hypercare support
  • Ensure payroll aligns with local legislative and compliance requirements across Central and Eastern European jurisdictions

Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Deliver client training sessions on:
    • HR, Payroll, and system administration
  • Documentation creation, including:
    • High-quality process maps
    • Configuration records
    • Client playbooks
  • Contribute to improvement of implementation methodologies, templates, and playbooks
  • Share implementation knowledge across the consulting team
  • Support development of junior consultants

Required

  • 5+ years experience in HRIS, HCM, or payroll implementations within:
    • Consulting, SaaS, or HR technology environments
  • Proficiency with enterprise HRIS or payroll platforms, including:
    • Deel, Workday, HiBob, BambooHR, SAP SuccessFactors
    • Oracle HCM, ADP, Ceridian, others as appropriate.
  • End-to-end implementation project management:
    • Discovery → Requirements → Configuration → Testing → Data Migration → Go-live → Hypercare
  • Strong familiarity with payroll processes (configuration, testing, parallel runs, data migration).
  • Deep knowledge of payroll legislation for at least one country in Central or Eastern Europe or experience in multi-country payroll implementations.
  • Excellent client-facing skills, engaging confidently with:
    • HR, Finance, IT business leaders
  • Project management skills with ability to manage multiple client implementations simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
  • Experience in a fast-paced SaaS/technology organisation (preferred).

Preferred

  • Relevant project management certifications:
    • (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent)
  • Degree (Bachelor's+ level preferred) in:
    • Human Resources
    • Business
    • Information Technology
    • or relevant discipline
