HRIS Transformation Programme Manager

Contract: 18 months Rate: Up to £1,000 per day (outside IR35) Start: Immediate Location: London (hybrid)

HRIS Transformation Programme Manager

PE-backed organisation seeking a seasoned HRIS Transformation Programme Manager to drive the full procurement and rollout of a new HR system. The objective? Centralise operations, eliminate inefficiencies, and revolutionise employee service across a rapidly expanding multi-entity business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic direction: Oversee the HRIS programme from initial discovery through system selection, deployment, and full implementation, ensuring alignment with business growth goals.

  • Transform organisational structure:

    • Guide the transition from decentralised HR operations to a consistent, scalable global model.
    • Remove redundant processes and integrate all operating companies into one cohesive system.
  • Assessment & selection:

    • Evaluate the current HR technology landscape and process maturity.
    • Steer vendor selection, appointing and managing the systems implementation partner.

  • Technical delivery:

    • Strategically implement core HR functionalities, including:
      • Employee records
      • Payroll (with special focus on transformation experience)
      • Workforce management
  • Cross-functional collaboration:

    • Partner closely with HR, payroll, finance, technology leaders, and operational stakeholders across the UK.
    • Drive alignment between technical teams, end-users, and executive sponsors.
  • Management & control:

    • Develop, monitor, and update the programme plan, governance, budget, risks, dependencies, and milestones.
    • Manage a small, self-driven delivery team with clear accountability and efficiency.
  • People-centred transition:

    • Ensure organisation readiness through communications, training programmes, and change management initiatives.

Required Experience

  • Proven HRIS delivery leader:
    • 10+ years of end-to-end HRIS programme experience, with direct experience in Workday and SuccessFactors.
    • Hands-on expertise in discovery, procurement, vendor selection, implementation, UAT, and deployment.

  • Payroll transformation specialist:

    • Significant experience in payroll system transformations, including legacy-to-new integration challenges.
  • Complex operating environment:

    • Proven track record in PE-backed multi-entity organisations, navigating regional intricacies while maintaining global consistency.
  • HR Operating Model Mastery:

    • Deep understanding of HR service delivery models and the ability to design centralised HR operations.
  • SysInt/Third-party integration:

    • Skilled in managing systems integrators and third-party vendors, ensuring timely delivery under complex parameters.
  • Senior stakeholder management:

    • Ability to confidently engage with C-level executives, programme sponsors, executives, and operational stakeholders in high-impact environments.
