About The Role

We're looking for a Health & Safety Performance & Insights Analyst to join our Health & Safety team and play a key role in helping the organisation understand, measure and improve safety performance through high‑quality data, insight, and reporting.

Working closely with the Head of H&S Management Systems and the Performance & Reporting Specialist, you'll help to develop and maintain performance metrics that provide meaningful insight across all business areas. Producing clear, accurate management information that supports decision making and continuous improvement aligned to the UU H&S Strategy.

This role offers the opportunity to gain technical experience in data analytics, H&S management systems, and performance reporting while contributing to organisational safety culture.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Identify leading and lagging indicators that support implementation of the H&S management system and track performance against strategic plans.
  • Produce performance dashboards, reports, and analysis in accordance with service level agreements.
  • Analyse H&S data to identify good practice, opportunities for improvement, and areas requiring intervention.
  • Support the development and maintenance of H&S performance metrics that track the effectiveness of critical controls and team performance.
  • Use AI, internal and external data sources to detect patterns, emerging risks, and trends.
  • Provide advice and support on health and safety data, reporting methodologies, and management system requirements.
  • Contribute to wider H&S improvement programmes and organisational initiatives as required.
  • Ensure all work complies with internal policies, procedures, and data governance standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong interest in data, analytics, and performance improvement.
  • Ability to interpret data and present information in a clear and engaging way.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the confidence to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Basic understanding of data management principles.
  • Good analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Ability to produce simple dashboards, charts, or visual reports (training will be provided).
  • The ability to use AI to analyse data and identify improvements
  • Knowledge of analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel, or AI‑enabled analysis tools.
  • Experience creating or presenting information to managers or teams.
