Role Overview
Help shape safer projects and make a lasting impact in one of the UK's most important industries. At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re creating a safe and secure world together. As a trusted safety professional, you’ll play a critical role supporting critical nuclear projects and operational activities in Cumbria.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert health, safety, and environmental advice across projects and operational activities
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and investigations to identify improvement opportunities
- Support compliance with legislation, industry standards, and company procedures
- Analyse safety performance data, identifying trends and implementing improvements
- Build strong relationships with project teams, clients, and external stakeholders to promote a proactive safety culture
This role operates on a full-time (37 hours per week) basis, with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent recognised qualification)
Experience
- Demonstrable experience in health, safety, and environmental roles
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices
- Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety performance reviews
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and develop improvement plans
- Strong influence and communication skills to promote a proactive safety culture
Professional Standards
Membership of a professional body (e.g., IOSH) is preferred.
Security Requirements
Security Check (SC) security clearance is essential. Further details available at UK Security Vetting.
