HSE Advisor Onshore

THE OPPORTUNITY – HSE ADVISOR ONSHORE The HSE Advisor Onshore provides direct, sustainable and reliable HSE support, guidance and appropriate challenge to operations in support of the Morecambe Hub assets. Location: Barrow-in-Furness Duration: 2-year contract Contract Type: PAYE Day Rate: TBC - For your application to be progressed, please ensure you provide a PAYE day rate banding expectation. Please note that there is no travel and accommodation allowance provided. Please only apply if you have existing right-to-work in the UK. Please outline notice period/availability to start. Spirit Energy currently have a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement for all office-based workers. 4 days must be worked in the office with compulsory days being Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The fourth day worked in-office (either Monday or Friday) is of the worker’s choosing but should be in keeping with what is most efficient and effective for their team. The office is open 5 days a week for full time, in-office working if this is the contractor’s preference. AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT… In role, you will be required to: Act as a role model for Spirit Energy’s Life Saving and House Rules and HSE Expectations, promoting a proactive and generative HSE culture through visible HSE leadership. Provide support to the Morecambe Hub assets by way of provision of HSE training; accident/incident investigation; system audits and the provision of advice on HSE best practice. Assist in the monitoring and reporting of HSE performance across operations, seeking to identify trends in performance and driving improvements. Take responsibility for delivering actions identified within the HSE improvement plans. Assist with the maintenance of a positive safety culture across the operational assets and the maintenance of behavioural modification tools in use across the Field. Manage and assists in the maintenance of emergency response plans for the operational assets. Arranges exercises to test the veracity of those plans. Support the preparation of regulator interventions and audits to ensure regulatory compliance, contributing as necessary to any required actions arising. Ensure that requirements of Safety Case and/or COMAH Report are maintained within operations and any proposed modifications or changes to operational practices are compared to Safety Case and/or COMAH Report before implementation. Review work packs for content and suitability before work commences. Ensure supply chain and contract management expectations are communicated and understood by relevant third parties and stakeholders. Actively monitoring and engagement during contract execution. Act as a Lead investigator using Kelvin TopSet investigation techniques to support business requirements. Any other associated duties as reasonably required ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, we are looking for: Demonstrated track record in developing and executing pragmatic solutions and influencing others to move towards consensus Previous experience of working in an HSE and Technical role / team Good knowledge of risk management, compliance and emergency response routines and requirements Strong written and oral communication skills Experienced communicator with internal/external groups, including regulator and auditing bodies. NEBOSH Certificate (minimum) or Diploma (preferred) Professional membership of relevant institute or working towards it (e.g. IOSH) Offshore BOSIET and Medical Experience in event management and investigation training such as Kelvin TopSet In addition to technical knowledge and credibility, we are looking for someone who lives our values - Agility, Collaboration, Courage, Care, and Delivery.
