We are looking for a HSE Advisor to join our team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety and the Environment with respect to Legislation, Company Policies and Client requirements. You will provide visibility and interface of the HSE function by working in collaboration with other members of the team and the wider business to facilitate high performance delivery through successful implementation of processes and systems, in a sustainable manner.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Advise and assist site management in the preparation of Safety & Environmental Plans, Risk Assessments and method statements for various projects in line with client SLA’s / KPI’s.
- Work with on site management in the development, delivery, implementation and maintenance of Business Unit specific HSE policies and procedures.
- Prepare safety and environmental reports as required and conduct safety and environmental audits and inspections in accordance with the Integrated Management system.
- Prepare and deliver training courses / tool box talks to ensure full knowledge of H&S requirements and techniques.
- Deliver and support the delivery of the KAEFER setting to work process including Safe Start and Hazard Surveys.
- Report to Line Management of HSE activities and the effectiveness of RAMs and permit compliance.
- Conduct loss event investigations and prepare reports for internal / external purposes and provide HSE advice and direction to on site management, staff and contractors.
- Assist site management in the periodic preparation and presentation of seminars/training for clients, own employees and other interested parties/stakeholders.
- Sharing information, suggestions and observations to create consistency throughout the Company.
- Assist other members of the team in across business unit audits to meet company Occupational Health and Safety goals.
- Liaise with Health & Safety stewards on a regular basis ensuring consultation and participation of workforce.
- Drive behavioural culture change programs and retain a strong presence on site daily and manage KAEFER’s relationship with the client’s HSE teams.

What You Will Bring
- NEBOSH Health and Safety Certificate
- Experience of safety leadership including assuring compliance to statutory requirements.
- Professional in approach to dealing with issues and employees and an appreciation of confidentiality and discretion.
- Ability to effectively influence individuals’ stakeholders and groups at all levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach with strict adherence to deadlines and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent information sharing ability and ability to adapt to audience.
- Demonstrable strong knowledge of HSE law and experience in construction/heavy industry.
- Good level of understanding and knowledge of HSE legislation and codes of practice.
- Experience of hazard assessment and risk reduction methods.
- Experience of dealing with HSE systems, processes and identifying training needs.
- Whilst not essential, a NEBOSH Health and Safety diploma, an Environmental qualification and/or membership of IOSH would be an advantage.
