HSE Business Partner

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Business Partner – UKI Landside Operations

About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Business Partner for our landside operations across UKI, encompassing warehouses and depots activities. As the primary point of contact for all HSE matters within your scope, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations are prepared, protected, and compliant.

As part of this role, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with site leaders, local operations teams, and customers.
  • Drive HSE standardization and risk mitigation.
  • Embed a culture of resilience through continuous improvement and proactive stakeholder engagement.

Travel within UKI is required intermittently to support operations and initiatives.

This hybrid role (based in the East Midlands) is open for local employment only.

As the HSE Business Partner, you will:

  • Assess workplace hazards and implement effective risk controls via the hierarchy of control in partnership with Site Managers and Safety Champions.
  • Ensure compliance with APMM global HSE standards while advising on local legal regulations.
  • Coach senior leaders and teams on HSE leadership, share best practices, and foster a strong safety culture.
  • Lead root cause analysis of incidents and learning activities to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Operations, HR, and Procurement to implement and maintain effective HSE controls for third-party labour.
  • Advise on safe work designs, eliminate risks during operational changes, and identify equipment-related hazards.
  • Promote visual management tools to engage frontline teams in HSE practices.
  • Host and facilitate HSE committees, assess training needs, and ensure emergency response capabilities are robust.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections, supporting HSE programs and waste management.
  • Lead HSE impact and risk assessments for business growth or integration projects.
  • Support the delivery of regional and global HSE improvement strategies through governance, reporting, and structured action plans.

  • 8+ years’ experience in HSE roles, ideally within logistics, supply chain, or operational environments across multiple sites.
  • A verified HSE qualification, such as NEBOSH or IOSH, or equivalent practical experience (university degree—not mandatory—but beneficial from fields like Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or Risk Management).
  • Strong leadership presence, communication skills, and stakeholder engagement abilities—particularly within a matrix environment.
  • A collaborative mindset with a proven ability to build trust, influence, and align diverse teams across geographies.
  • Analytical thinking paired with data-driven insights to deliver actionable safety improvements.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach, ensuring risk mitigation while navigating uncertainty and change.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Experience driving cultural and behavioral change in HSE performance.
