HSE Coordinator
Location: Southampton
Sector: Logistics / Port Operations
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm (flexible)
Position Type: Perm
Salary: £30,100
We're currently recruiting for a HSE Coordinator to support operations at a busy Southampton-based logistics terminal. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong health & safety or quality background to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
The Role
You'll work closely with the HSE Manager to support all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality across the site. This role is a mix of administration, compliance, auditing, and operational support, ensuring the business meets ISO standards and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the HSEQ Manager with day-to-day HSE activities
- Assist with internal and external ISO audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
- Carry out safety and quality inspections across the terminal
- Maintain and update SOPs, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
- Produce reports on KPIs, incidents, fuel usage and compliance data
- Input and manage HSEQ data using Excel and internal systems
- Support incident reporting and investigations
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and site security standards
- Provide general administrative support to the HSEQ function
- Act as a positive ambassador for HSEQ standards across the business

About You
- Previous experience in a HSE, compliance, or safety-focused role
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
- Proactive, with a positive and flexible approach

Essential Requirements
- A recognised Health & Safety or Quality qualification
- Full UK driving licence
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
Desirable
- NEBOSH qualification
- IOSH membership
