Job Summary
Join our dynamic and innovative team dedicated to ensuring a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment. As an HSE Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting Health, Safety & Environment and Facilities Management activities while contributing to a strong safety culture across the organization. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical HSE knowledge, support facility operations, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist in the implementation of HSE policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support risk assessment reviews, workplace inspections, and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Help maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE and facility-related records, documentation, and internal databases.
- Support updates and follow-up activities across Facilities systems and ensure required data is maintained accurately.
- Assist in scheduling and following up on facility maintenance, repairs, and service requests.
- Support on-site HSE and Facilities activities, including workplace inspections and safety engagements.
- Assist in small facility improvement projects, audits, and workplace initiatives.
- Support the implementation of workplace standards to ensure clean, safe, and well-organized facilities.
- Participate in HSE training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
- Collaborate with different departments to promote the SLB Safe Culture.
- Interface with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support day-to-day Facilities and HSE operations.
- Support documentation, reporting, and basic contract or permit administration under supervision.
- Follow up with suppliers and internal stakeholders on service requests and administrative processes, including payment approval workflows where applicable.
- Contribute to environmental sustainability initiatives within the company.
- Support incident investigations and assist in developing corrective and preventive actions.
- Demonstrate adaptability by supporting changing business priorities and learning new systems and processes.
- Occasionally visit other sites to support HSE or Facilities activities, where required.

Essential Requirements
- Recently completed a degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience or coursework related to HSE, Facilities, Engineering, or Operations (internships, university projects, etc.).
- Basic understanding of HSE principles and workplace safety practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills
- NEBOSH certification (or currently studying towards it) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with UK HSE regulations and guidelines is preferred but not essential.
- Interest or exposure to Facilities Management or workplace operations is beneficial.
