HSEQ Lead
Location: Bridgwater (Onsite) – Hinkley Point C
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor / HSEQ Lead to play a key role in driving health, safety, environmental, and quality excellence across a major engineering project at Hinkley Point C.
The Role
As the HSEQ Lead, you will be responsible for leading and shaping the HSE strategy across the business, ensuring all activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with quality expectations. You will work closely with senior leadership, operational teams, and key stakeholders to continuously enhance HSEQ performance and foster a proactive safety-first culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of HSE strategies, policies, programmes, and initiatives aligned with current and future business requirements.
- Monitor and manage HSE systems, standards, and behaviours, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Develop and oversee HSE audits, management plans, and assurance activities to ensure safe and high-quality project delivery.
- Drive innovation in HSEQ, introducing new safety initiatives and continuous improvement programmes across the project and wider business.
- Lead the development and delivery of Health & Safety and Quality Management Systems, promoting excellence in HSEQ standards and behaviours.

You will be a confident and influential HSE leader with significant experience operating within highly regulated or high-hazard environments.
Essential Experience
- Extensive senior-level HSEQ experience within a COMAH site, nuclear, energy, petrochemical, engineering, or other high-hazard regulated industry.
- Proven track record of delivering HSEQ system and process improvements.
- Experience leading and managing Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality teams.

Qualifications
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience)
- IOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH)
- Lead Assessor – ISAS or equivalent
- CCNSG
