HSE Manager
Addison Project plc – SHE / HSE Specialist Opportunity

Role Overview
Based at our client site in North Lanarkshire, you will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely, and in line with project specifications, working closely with site management and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) management, including the following services:
- Provide SHE management advice and guidance to the project team in compliance with:
- UK legislation
- CDM Regulations
- Client standards
- Review and advise on:
- Risk assessments
- Method statements
- COSHH assessments (prepared by others)
- Conduct:
- Site SHE audits
- Inspections
- Compliance reviews, issuing findings and recommendations
- Monitor SHE performance and produce:
- Weekly SHE reports
- Monthly SHE reports for submission to Addison and/or the client
- Review construction activities and design information to ensure:
- Safe and practicable installation methodologies
- Support incident and near-miss investigations by:
- Reviewing evidence
- Providing recommendations (without ownership of disciplinary or management actions)
- Act as SHE liaison during project meetings, providing professional input where required
- Review sub-contractor SHE documentation and advise on compliance with:
- Statutory requirements
- Contractual requirements
- Support the implementation of CDM Construction Phase requirements through:
- Advisory reviews
- (Not managerial control)
- Provide specialist SHE input to support continuous improvement initiatives when requested

Experience & Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Valid CSCS card
- Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, with experience operating in Principal Designer and Principal Contractor environments
- Proven experience working on onshore UK construction projects in:
- Chemical
- Pharmaceutical
- FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods)
- COMAH sites
- NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health & Safety (minimum)
- Up-to-date knowledge of:
- UK Health and Safety legislation
- UK Environmental legislation
- Excellent communication, influencing, and reporting skills
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Technical drawings
- Specifications
- Good understanding of:
- Construction methods
- Tolerances, quality standards
