Job Title: HSE Manager - Submarines

Working location: Raynesway, Derby

Grade: Level C

As the HSE Manager you will be reporting to the Head of HS&E and be a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager for Rolls-Royce Submarines. Accountable to the Head of HSE and Director Site and Licensee Authority for the Health, Safety and Environment Management of operations.

To lead, coordinate and represent Rolls-Royce Submarines in health, safety and environment issues/initiatives.

What you will be doing:

  • You will be the HSE specialist for Rolls-Royce Submarines - accountable for the performance and results of HSE.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practice HSE legislation and that of key stakeholders, and use them to drive strategy, processes, and performance.
  • Provide technical HSE direction to operation, maintenance, and design teams within.
  • Develop policies and strategies for continuous improvement and development of the HSE culture, encouraging, motivating, and recognizing good behavior at all levels.
  • Establish, maintain, and lead all significant accident and incident investigations, record systems, reports, and accident trend analysis.
  • Represent the business on HSE matters with Regulators, Customers, Suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional HSE qualifications.
  • Chartered or working towards chartered membership of IOSH.
  • Experienced in providing high-level advice and risk-based solutions in a diverse range of disciplines.
  • Have a proven track record in HSE management.
  • Experienced in HSE in Design and Construction.
  • The ability to influence and facilitate ownership and commitment by management and active participation.
  • Knowledge of the business area, specific risks, and industry approaches would be advantageous.
