Job Description: Health, Safety and Environment Manager – CBRE
About The Role
As a CBRE Health, Safety and Environment Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, CBRE policies, and client specifications.
This role sits within the Environment Health and Safety function, which is accountable for organizational programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities.
What You’ll Do
- Promote a positive and proactive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture to influence stakeholders, ensuring compliance.
- Assist in implementing and reviewing playbooks and procedures, ensuring HSE initiatives drive program consistency and efficiency.
- Manage initiatives to meet regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements.
- Track operational and safety risks and develop strategic risk management strategies to avoid potential incidents.
- Lead the EHS team in supporting day-to-day operations, managing HSE tasks, initiatives, and meeting client expectations.
- Oversee the Permit to Work (PTW) process, integrating procedures and requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
- Identify and manage site-specific EHS training, ensuring competency verification is maintained.
- Oversee effective management, monitoring, and reporting of HSE metrics.
- Analyze HSE data to identify trends and benchmark performance.
- Monitor injury, illness, and incident reports, providing recommendations to prevent risk.
- Conduct timely incident investigations to identify root causes, recommending corrective actions.
- Continuously assess risks to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the account. Work with management to develop strategic solutions that improve and maintain compliance.
- Perform regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with HSE standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify potential concerns, communicating findings, concerns, and deficiencies to responsible functional managers.
- Lead by example and embody CBRE’s RISE values (Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence), influencing key decision-makers to align interests and resolve disagreements.
- Manage a team with direct reports, fostering quality, efficiency, and effectiveness in operations.
- Apply expertise in the discipline, integrating it with other functions to achieve team and departmental objectives.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex HSE issues, whether evident in existing systems or processes.

What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- In lieu of a degree, certifications, experience, and education will be considered.
- Additional certifications as required by local authority.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate teams, impacting quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Proven experience in a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in implementing Permit to Work (PTW) processes and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational skills and a curious, inquisitive mindset.
