HSE Support
Health & Safety Support Professional – Barton-Upon-Humber, Manufacturing Site
About The Role
We’re seeking a proactive Health & Safety Support professional for our Barton-Upon-Humber manufacturing site, with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 06:00–14:30. The role focuses on supporting the implementation of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) systems and ensuring effective contractor control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and review Risk Assessments, Safe Working Procedures, COSHH assessments, and Manual Handling (MAC) assessments
- Review/approve contractor RAMS (Risk Assessments for Method Statements) and verify contractor competency, certifications, and licences
- Coordinate contractor operations to ensure compliance with:
- Site rules
- CDM Regulations
- Relevant legislation
- Deliver site inductions for contractors/visitors and ensure safety understanding
- Manage Permits to Work (PTW), including high-risk tasks
- Conduct ongoing:
- Regular audits
- Inspections
- Behavioural safety observations
- Promote a positive safety culture and actively challenge unsafe behaviours
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and deliver corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with:
- Company procedures
- ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
- ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
- UK Health & Safety laws
- Monitor performance and support reporting for continuous improvement

About You
Skills and Knowledge:
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) – essential
- NEBOSH General Certificate – desirable
- Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001) – advantageous
- Knowledge of contractor management and CDM Regulations
- Manufacturing/machinery experience – advantageous
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills
- Strong organisation, able to manage priorities and deadlines
- Analytical problem-solving and investigation skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Experience spanning diverse work environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
