Department: HSEQ

Location: Worsley

Compensation: £55,000 - £65,000 / year

Description

As a HSEQ Lead, you will be responsible for health, safety, environment, and quality aspects of work delivered through our utilities contracts. This role links to a wider central HSEQ team, meaning you will be responsible for communicating and cascading HSEQ initiatives, systems, processes, activities, regulatory, and compliance requirements across the business. The role reports directly to the Head of HSEQ.

You will be responsible for promoting compliance throughout the contracts, demonstrating leadership behaviors, and setting the standards we expect everyone to follow. This role will require considerable interaction with our clients and operational teams, ensuring that all working on the contract are aligned to HSEQ goals, rules, and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will have a passion for ensuring exceptional levels of health, safety, quality, and environmental standards are delivered; putting in place the processes and reports to continually monitor and maintain quality standards.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring correct HSEQ reporting, recording, documentation management, and safe systems of work; this includes regular inspections, audits, and quality checks both at site and remotely.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the completion of verification inspections and audits; following up on closure of findings/non-conformances.
  • You will undertake and support the accident and incident investigations; promoting good quality reporting and closure.
  • You will complete a weekly and monthly report on HSEQ compliance, performance, and achievements plus issues identified.
  • You will proactively address and manage any risks identified; communicating and driving improvements as well as close liaison with the internal HSEQ Team and external auditors.
  • You will monitor Accident and Incident statistics for the contract; sharing reports at client meetings.
  • You will support the contract on training and competency requirements, ensuring that the contracts are achieving the highest standards of training compliance.
  • You will build and maintain relationships with the client.
  • You will drive the correct and safe behaviors out on site and within the office.
  • You will assist the Quality Assurance and Environmental Lead with accreditations and provide support where required, with standards, including but not limited to ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO14001, Achillies, ROSPA, and more.
  • You will support the contracts with quality control inspections to ensure that the correct standards are in place at all times, carrying out briefings/training for engineers and supervisors as appropriate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
