Plumber (Permanent) – Hamilton Business Unit

About the Role

Housing & Technical Resources require an experienced Plumber to support maintenance programmes within Building Services for South Lanarkshire Council.

This 37-hour-per-week permanent role based in the Hamilton Business Unit offers a competitive starting salary of £39,856–£40,995 per year.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute plumbing duties across all South Lanarkshire Council properties, including both domestic and commercial settings.
  • Manage varied workloads with flexibility and technical expertise.
  • Operate to predefined deadlines and maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Adhere to all health & safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in customer care, communication, and team collaboration.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

✔ Must hold trade qualifications equivalent to:

  • SVQ Level 3, or
  • City & Guilds (trade level) in plumbing or related discipline.
  • Minimum Time served in the trade.
  • Proven practical technical competence.
  • Experience in both commercial and residential installations/repairs.
