Senior Logistics Controller
About the Role
As a Logistics Controller, you will sit at the very heart of Next’s global supply chain, ensuring our international customers receive the seamless service they expect from our brand.
In this newly created role—reporting directly to the Hubs Manager—you will take full ownership of the international customer journey from start to finish, bridging the gap between our internal distribution teams and our global partner hubs.
You will:
- Work cross-functionally with senior managers, warehouse operations, systems, and customer service teams
- Boost delivery efficiencies while carefully managing operational costs
- Be supported from day one with the tools, training, and cross-functional insights needed to excel
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead a newly created position within Next, the UK’s 2nd largest fashion retailer and market leader in Kidswear, with over 450 stores and global e-commerce reach spanning 80+ countries.
What You’ll Take On
- Manage international partner hub relationships – Agree clear SLAs and KPIs for operational activities and ensure smooth collaboration.
- Oversee bulk trailer movements – Coordinate the seamless delivery of goods to international hubs.
- Produce end-to-end customer order journeys – Ensure correct packing, shipping, and timely delivery across global routes.
- Lead planning and peak-trading meetings – Work with warehouse operations and third-party partners to manage volumes, seasonal sales, and system changes.
- Analyse logistics data – Provide commercial insights to senior managers and Directors on process improvements.
- Proactively identify risks – Spot potential supply chain disruptions and recommend solutions to meet customer delivery promises proactively.
- Travel flexibly – Between our South Elmsall warehouses and Head Office, alongside occasional international travel to collaborate with global hubs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
