Human Factors Consultant
Remote Working Setup (hybrid with occasional client site visits)
£55,000 - £70,000 Base Salary + Benefits Package
UK Citizenship required to meet security criteria.
Summary of duties
- Provision of leadership in the delivery of engineering and technical activities through the application of process, domain knowledge, and experience.
- To produce the requirements, strategy, and delivery plan required to support a nuclear facility capability.
- To lead the HF contribution in support of the safety case delivery.
- To provide HF advice and guidance, aligned to relevant good practice.
- To prepare / check HF Integration Plans.
- To prepare / check and approve HF deliverables in support of the safety assessment.

Technical Skills
- Human Factors Assessment techniques including but not limited to:
- Hierarchical Task Analysis
- Tabular Task Analysis
- Systematic Human Error Reduction and Prediction Assessment
- Human Error Quantification Techniques (e.g. HEART & THERP)
- Human Dependency Modelling (Direct and Indirect)
- Human Error Reduction methods
- Inputs to Fault Tree and Event Tree modelling
- Knowledge of engineering principles
- Understanding of regulation and HF standards
- Undertaking HF assessments in support of safety case production
- Strong communicator, including undertaking assessments and writing safety reports
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and good practice
- Application of ALARP and risk reduction principles
