HR Administrator

Central London (Covent Garden) | Full time, 35 hours per week | £29,000 plus generous benefits

Versende is working with a well established adult education provider in central London to recruit an HR Administrator. They are a values driven organisation with a simple purpose: bringing people together to enrich lives through learning. This is a close knit HR team where the work is varied, the pace is quick, and no two days look the same.

The Role

Reporting into the HR Operations Manager, you will be the engine room of the HR function, covering the core administration that keeps everything running.

HR Systems and Payroll

  • Ensure accurate production of all payroll activity in line with cut off dates
  • Process starters and leavers on the HR system and keep records accurate
  • Act as first line for payroll queries, working with the Payroll team in Finance
  • Monitor the HR inbox, respond to queries and escalate patterns

Recruitment and Selection

  • Arrange interviews and prepare all associated paperwork
  • Keep the recruitment system and trackers up to date
  • Manage the external talent bank and report weekly on live campaigns
  • Work with the HR team to get roles advertised and feed back on campaign success

Onboarding

  • Manage pre-employment checks through an online portal
  • Carry out Right to Work checks and stay current with immigration rules
  • Organise inductions, issue e-learning and track completion
  • Support face to face inductions and help improve the onboarding process

Wider HR Administration

  • Draft probation, resignation acceptance and reference paperwork
  • Note taking in formal meetings
  • Processing and tracking invoice payments
  • Supporting benefits administration, including schemes such as cycle to work

What They Are Looking For

  • Around two years of administration experience, ideally within an HR environment
  • HR experience is preferred, but a strong administrator who is keen to learn will be considered. Full training is provided
  • Confident with Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Excel
  • High accuracy and genuine attention to detail
  • Proactive, organised and able to work on your own initiative
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal, and forthcoming with updates
  • Comfortable with a high volume of activity and shifting priorities
  • Absolute discretion with confidential matters
