Human Resources Advisor
HR Advisor – Workforce Directorate
We are seeking a motivated and CIPD-qualified (or equivalent experienced) HR professional to join our HR Advisor roles within Mersey Care in the North West of England.
About the Role
An innovative and passionate HR Advisor is required to support a high-performing, dynamic team, ensuring operational excellence in HR services across multiple locations. This is a critical role that provides day-to-day HR advice, professional guidance to managers, and proactive solutions to workforce challenges. The focus is firmly on delivering the best possible care for service users.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing generalist HR advice to a wide range of teams, managers, and leaders.
- Supporting the operational management of services, while also contributing to broader HR functions.
- Ensuring best practice in policy implementation, compliance, and employee relations.
- Delivering tangible, proactive solutions to HR queries, whether relating to recruitment, performance, or workforce deployment.
- Maintaining an attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and adapting to the fast-paced demands of the healthcare environment.
- Collaborating with all levels of staff, from operational teams to senior executives.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert, solution-focused HR guidance to internal stakeholders on employee relations, sick leave, performance management, contract changes, and more.
- Offer understanding, resourceful, and reliable support to managers, helping them resolve complex workplace issues seamlessly.
- Contribute to workforce planning, talent development initiatives, and the deliverables of our broader transformation programme.
- Represent HR in improving team morale and ensuring the delivery of perfect care in alignment with Mersey Care’s values.
- actively internalise and develop the capabilities of team members, sharing knowledge across HR agency teams.

Requirements
Essential:
- CIPD membership (or working towards qualification) with at least three years of work in a human resources setting.
- Proven track record of discretion, skills in negotiation and negotiation and the ability to sincerely understand workplace dynamics.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, to intuitively interact and instruct stakeholders at all organisational levels.
- Used tools like: Excel, Microsoft, HRIS systems.
- Demonstrates a commitment to equal opportunity for our diverse workforce and delivering equitable care to service users.
- High levels of self-motivation, is an excellent teamworker and has a can-do attitude.
Location and Working Arrangements:
- Two full-time (0.8W/pro-rata part-time) role, including hybrid working (office/home).
- Base locations: V7, Kings Business Park, Prescot; Ashworth Hospital, Maghull.
- Travel requirements: As per organisational need within Mersey Care sites will be provided.

Team and Reporting
This role falls under the HR Directorate and will directly report to a HR Manager. You will work collaboratively alongside HR Advisors, HR Officers, Senior HR Business Partners and the HR Strategic Lead. There is a vibrant, supportive culture characterised by:
