HRLife are working with a values driven business who are going through a period of change and growth and are looking to recruit a new HR Advisor who has a generalist background and is used to working in a multi-site environment.

You'll be working in a proactive HR team, reporting into a HRBP and will be supporting and empowering managers to make commercial, timely and legally compliant decisions on all people related activity.

As the first point of contact for managers, you'll be used to working closely with stakeholders to provide balanced, high-quality and pragmatic HR advice across a wide range of people issues from absence, capability, performance through to disciplinaries and grievances. You'll have good employment law knowledge and be a confident, great communicator who enjoys partnering managers and making an impact.

Key Responsibilities will include;

  • Acting as the first point of contact for managers to provide HR advice and guidance on employee relations issues
  • Support managers in handling ER cases including:
    • Sickness absence management (short- and long-term)
    • Investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances
    • Capability and performance management
    • Whistleblowing cases
    • Flexible working requests
  • Provide advice and support on suspension processes
  • Liaise with managers and leaders to schedule meetings, hearings, and case-related discussions
  • Attend and support formal meetings, including taking accurate and confidential notes
  • Liaise with trade union representatives, ensuring professional and constructive relationships
  • Draft correspondence including outcome letters, case documentation, and formal communications
  • Monitor and track sickness absence in line with company policy, escalating trigger points where appropriate
  • Support managers with occupational health referrals and follow-up actions
  • Deliver training and coaching to managers and leaders on absence management and other HR processes
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and practices
  • Ad-hoc project work as directed by the HR Business Partner

You'll need to come from a generalist HR background with exposure to managing ER cases and being the first point of contact for managers on 'everything people'. You'll be used to taking initiative, be reliable, a team player and have a natural ability to build great relationships at all levels. Ideally you'll be solutions focused, commercially minded and happy to 'roll your sleeves up'.

This role offers hybrid working - 3 days in the office / 2 at home with travel as required.

Salary is to 33k plus benefits package.
