Generalist HR Advisor (Contract in London)
HRLife are excited to be working with a well-known business in London to find them a Generalist HR Advisor. The role features a 4-day in-office workload (location: London) with 1 day of flexible remote work, making it ideal for someone passionate about building relationships, workplace visibility, and employee engagement.
About the Role
You’ll report to an exceptional Head of HR, forming a crucial bridge between strategic HR initiatives and smooth daily operations. In a phase of significant change and growth, your role is vital in:
- Embedding new workplace strategies
- Ensuring HR operations remain seamless during transitions
- Advancing inclusion, collaboration, and adaptability

Key Responsibilities
Employment & Operations
- Manage onboarding/offboarding workflows, including offer letters, contract reviews, and right-to-work documentation.
- Oversee HRIS updates for accurate employee records.
- Assist Head of HR with payroll support:
- Inputting changes
- Producing data reports
Employee & Manager Support
- Provide emergency response (ER) handling, from absence management to disciplinary/grievance processes.
- Advise on performance management, including probation reviews.
- Guide managers on occupational health (OH) referrals and return-to-work plans.
Learning & Development
- Lead 1:1 and group coaching sessions (e.g., bite-sized employment law updates or lunch-and-learns).

Wellbeing & Performance
- Collaborate on engagement initiatives and wellbeing programmes.
Ad-hoc Support
- Drive project-based HR tasks as needed to keep operations agile.
Ideal Candidate
- Generalist HR background with strong employment law knowledge.
- Retail, hospitality, or operations experience particularly valued.
- Ability to remain visible, adaptable, and proactive.
