Role Description
The Human Resources Advisor – Maternity Cover is a full-time, hybrid role based in Hindley, Wigan. This role provides day-to-day HR advisory support to managers and employees, including guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation. The Human Resources Advisor handles employee relations matters such as performance issues, grievances, and disciplinary processes, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes. The role includes supporting recruitment and onboarding, maintaining accurate HR records, and contributing to HR initiatives that enhance engagement and retention. The advisor collaborates with HR leadership and operational teams to implement best practices, support organizational change, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in Human Resources (HR), ideally in a similar advisory role.
- Strong knowledge of HR Policies and the ability to interpret and apply them consistently in an operational environment.
- Solid understanding of Labor and Employment Law, with practical experience in ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.
- Proven expertise in Employee Relations, including handling performance management, disciplinary matters, and grievances.
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with HR information systems and MS Office; experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an advantage.
