Overview of the Role

Phoenix is a leading UK IT solutions and managed service provider, with a deep specialism in the public sector. We work with organisations across government, healthcare, defence, public safety, education, housing, and the charity sector - helping them modernise with confidence across cloud, data and AI, cyber security, and managed services.

Through strategic partnerships with the world's leading technology providers - and a trusted place on the major public sector frameworks - our work has a direct impact on the services that millions of people rely on every day.

We are now very excited to grow that team further by hiring a new HR Advisor who will provide high-quality, commercially focussed HR support across the organisation.

What will you be doing?

  • Advise and support managers on complex employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinaries (up to and including dismissal), investigations, probation reviews and absence management.
  • Manage short- and long-term absence cases, including Occupational Health referrals and interpretation of recommendations.
  • Attend and support employee relations meetings and hearings, ensuring fairness, consistency and policy compliance.
  • Produce accurate documentation, including meeting notes and outcome letters.
  • Create, review and update HR policies to ensure legal compliance and alignment with best practice.
  • Support the communication and effective embedding of HR policies and processes across the business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline HR processes, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops to build manager capability and confidence in handling people matters.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on HR policies and employee issues.
  • Support wider HR operations, including onboarding, engagement initiatives, annual HR processes and organisational change activity.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in line with data protection requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
