Human Resources Assistant
HR & Payroll Assistant – Childcare Nursery (Part-Time)
A fantastic opportunity to join our client, a childcare nursery setting in Haywards Heath, offering a part-time role (21 hours per week). Suitable for candidates looking to work school hours (5 days) or part-time over 3 days.
This role is ideal for supporting HR administration and payroll in a friendly, collaborative environment, ensuring all people processes run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the HR inbox and respond professionally to employee queries
- Support onboarding and recruitment administration
- Process contract changes, maternity/paternity administration, and leaver procedures
- Maintain employee records and update the BrightHR system
- Ensure Single Central Record (SCR) accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Assist with payroll administration, including:
- Overtime
- Sickness
- Bank staff processing
- Take minutes at employee relations meetings
- Support wider HR activities as required

About You
You must have:
- CIPD Level 3 qualification (or currently studying for it)
- Experience in HR or general administration
- Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
- Professionalism, approachability, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
