Job Title: HR Assistant

Location: City of London

Role: 6-Month Fixed Term Contract (Full time)

Working Arrangement: Hybrid Working (3 days in office)

Salary: Very Competitive

The role

In your new role as an HR Assistant, you will support the day-to-day delivery of HR services within a busy London office. Reporting into Director of HR and Administration, you will play a key role in ensuring HR processes run smoothly across the employee lifecycle. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating recruitment processes, including interview scheduling and communication with hiring managers and agencies.
  • Supporting the onboarding process, preparing employment documentation and ensuring a positive new starter experience.
  • Managing pre-employment screening and compliance checks.
  • Coordinating inductions and orientation programmes for new employees.
  • Supporting probation review processes and preparing associated documentation.
  • Assisting with employee relations matters, including absence management, flexible working requests, and other people-related issues.
  • Coordinating offboarding activities, including leaver administration and exit processes.
  • Maintaining accurate HR records, personnel files, and HR documentation.
  • Monitoring absence records and supporting payroll-related administration.
  • Responding to employee queries and providing general HR support across the business.
  • Assisting with HR projects, reporting requirements, and wider administrative activities.

What do you need?

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • Previous HR experience, ideally gained within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience working with HR systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, and broader employee lifecycle processes.
