The HR Assistant Job

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing and people-focused organization for an HR Assistant to join their team in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced environment. Working closely with the HR team and wider business, you will provide administrative and operational support across the employee lifecycle, helping to ensure an efficient and positive employee experience.

Key HR Assistant Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing day-to-day administrative support to the HR function.
  • Managing employee records and ensuring HR systems are kept up to date.
  • Supporting recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews and onboarding new employees.
  • Preparing contracts, offer letters, and other HR documentation.
  • Assisting with new starter inductions and employee onboarding processes.
  • Supporting absence management and maintaining accurate records.
  • Responding to employee queries and providing first-line HR support.
  • Assisting with payroll administration and employee benefits processes.
  • Supporting performance management, training, and development activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Producing HR reports and maintaining accurate personnel data.

The HR Assistant Candidate

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an HR administration or HR assistant role and be looking to further develop their knowledge and career within Human Resources.

You will also have:

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of HR processes and employment practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and positive approach to work.

Desirable Experience:

  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or currently studying towards CIPD.
  • Previous involvement in recruitment, onboarding, or employee relations administration.
