Role Description

The HR Assistant is a full time, on-site role based in Shrewsbury, supporting the HR function across the firm. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with recruitment administration, coordinating interviews, preparing employment documentation, and maintaining accurate employee records. The role involves supporting onboarding and induction processes, tracking training attendance, and helping organise internal workshops and staff communications.

The Human Resources Assistant will respond to routine HR queries, help ensure compliance with company policies and employment legislation, and provide general administrative support to the HR team and wider management as needed. This position requires a professional, confidential, and service focused approach aligned with the firm’s commitment to high quality client and employee experience.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, including accurate data entry, record-keeping, and document management.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues at all levels.
  • Good working knowledge of HR processes such as recruitment support, onboarding, and basic HR compliance.
  • Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite) and the ability to learn HR systems and databases.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and respect for confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to supporting the HR team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload effectively, and meet deadlines in a busy office environment.
  • Previous experience in an HR, administration, or office support role is advantageous; an HR-related qualification or progress toward CIPD certification is a plus.
