Human Resources Business Partner
Join our friendly, supportive HR team and play a key role in helping our people and services succeed. This is a varied and rewarding opportunity where you'll work in partnership with managers across the Council, providing expert HR advice while contributing to a positive, inclusive workplace, delivering services that make a real difference to our community.
This is an exciting time for Hertsmere as we prepare for Local Government Reorganisation - one of the most significant organisational change programmes in the Council's history, offering a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local government while supporting our people through a period of transformation.
As a trusted HR Business Partner, you'll advise on employee relations, employment law, organisational change and workforce planning, while leading on complex casework, HR policies and people-focused projects. You'll build strong relationships with managers, support organisational change and help deliver the Council's People Strategy.

We're looking for an experienced HR professional with significant experience in a similar HR role, including managing complex employee relations cases, developing HR policies, and supporting formal disciplinary processes. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills are essential, with the ability to produce clear, accurate written documentation, interpret data, and maintain precise records.
You'll have up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law, organisational change, equality, diversity and inclusion, and be confident building positive relationships while providing practical, solutions-focused advice. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyse information and present it clearly are key to success in this role.

The post is offered on a permanent, full time basis (36 hours per week).

The Council operates a hybrid working system where employees may work up to three days per week from home (subject to service requirements).
