HR Business Partners – Workforce Restructuring & Transformation

Manchester
£550 - £580 per day
Hybrid – 1 day office
6 months initially

Meraki Talent is working with a global matrix financial services firm looking for an HR Business Partner (HRBP) to focus on workforce restructuring and transformation.

This role will be managing global change and restructuring programs across multiple employing entities, supporting the shaping of the workforce to meet long-term objectives, improve business performance, optimize costs, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations. The function aims to deliver a simple, efficient, and insight-led Workforce Change & Restructuring service while maintaining a strong risk and control environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Driving and supporting allocated change programs.
  • Leading the HR workstream for initiatives such as restructures, LEE transfers, outsourcing, insourcing, new site set-ups, and cross-entity/global change projects.
  • Partnering with in-country HRBPs, Employee Relations teams, and specialist HR functions as required.

The role holder will be responsible for delivering across the following areas:

Key Skills Required

  • Strong and demonstrable experience in workforce change and restructuring.
  • Experience managing or partnering with unions, union representatives, or operating within highly unionised environments.
  • Experience leading union and works council consultations.
  • Workforce consultation and redundancy program experience at high volumes.
  • Experience delivering TUPE-related projects/programs.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale or multiple concurrent change programs.
  • Experience delivering change programs internationally.
  • Strong understanding of current employment legislation.
  • Excellent project management, change management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience operating within highly matrixed organizations.
  • Strong awareness of cultural and geographic sensitivities.
  • Strong analytical and data management capability.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data reconciliation, formulas, and managing large data sets.

Essential Experience

  • Technical expertise in consultation processes, union engagement, redundancy programs, and employment law compliance.
  • Recent experience managing high volume redundancies at any one time.
  • Strong programme and project management capability, including governance, tracking, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to structure, run, and monitor complex programs.
  • Advanced Excel capability covering data manipulation, reporting, merging data sets, and quality checking large volumes of information.
