HR Business Partner
📍 Surrey | Hybrid Working (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)
🕒 Full Time | 37.5 hours per week
About the Organisation
Our client is a well-established national charity providing specialist services and support across the UK. They are seeking an experienced People Partner to join their People & Culture team, working closely with senior leaders to drive a positive, high-performing, and inclusive workplace.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys partnering with managers, leading on complex employee relations matters, and contributing to organisational development and change.
The Role
As a People Partner, you will work closely with senior managers and departmental leaders to provide proactive HR advice, coaching, and guidance across the full employee lifecycle.
You will play a key role in supporting managers with employee relations, organisational change, talent development, and workforce planning, while helping to deliver people initiatives that improve engagement, performance, and organisational effectiveness.
This is a true business partnering role, offering the opportunity to influence decision-making and contribute to wider People & Culture projects.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Provide expert advice on complex employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance issues.
- Coach managers to ensure consistent application of policies and employment legislation.
- Support managers through formal HR processes and complex casework.
- Promote best practice and ensure fair and consistent people management.

Business Partnering
- Build strong working relationships with senior leaders and managers.
- Provide commercially focused HR advice aligned to organisational objectives.
- Support workforce planning and succession planning activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve leadership capability and employee engagement.
Organisational Development
- Support organisational change initiatives and restructure activity.
- Assist with the implementation of new HR policies and procedures.
- Contribute to employee engagement and culture initiatives.
- Support managers through periods of organisational change.
Talent & Development
- Support recruitment, retention, and talent development initiatives.
- Advise managers on performance management and career development.
- Assist in developing learning and development opportunities across the organisation.
HR Projects & Systems
- Contribute to HR improvement projects and process efficiencies.
- Support HR systems development and continuous improvement.
- Assist with HR reporting, benchmarking, and workforce data analysis.
- Promote digital solutions and automation where appropriate.

Policy & Compliance
- Ensure HR policies remain compliant with employment legislation.
- Promote best practice across all HR activities.
- Support the review and implementation of new people policies.
About You
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Strong generalist HR experience within a People Partner, HR Business Partner, or Senior HR Advisor role.
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Significant experience managing complex employee relations cases.
- Experience supporting organisational change and transformation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Strong coaching and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience working with HR systems and using people data to inform decision-making.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
