Human Resources Consultant
HR Consultant x 2 – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) and Organisation Design
- Location: Local Authority | Predominantly Remote | Bristol (1 day per week, plus occasional attendance)
Are you an experienced HR Consultant with a strong background in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) or Organisational Design within a local authority environment?
We're supporting a major public sector organisation seeking an HR Consultant to:
- Lead on complex employee relations casework
- Drive EDI initiatives that foster more inclusive workplaces
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert HR advice on complex employee relations matters, including:
- Disciplinaries
- Grievances
- Restructures
- TUPE
- Investigations

Lead and influence EDI strategies, programmes, and policies across the organisation

Coach and support managers to build inclusive leadership capability

Analyse workforce data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement

Work closely with:
- Senior stakeholders
- Trade unions

To drive positive organisational change

Ensure HR policies and practices align with:
- Equality legislation
- Best practice
What We're Looking For
- Significant HR experience gained within a Local Authority

Proven experience handling complex employee relations casework

Strong knowledge of:
- EDI legislation
- Frameworks
- Best practice

CIPD Chartered Member (or equivalent experience)

Exceptional:
- Stakeholder management
- Influencing skills

Experience in:
- Building inclusive cultures
- Embedding EDI into HR practice
Role specifics
- Predominantly remote
- Weekly travel to Bristol for 1 day
- Occasional attendance at wider team meetings throughout the year
