Macmillan Davies are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a purpose-led organisation in Greater Manchester with the appointment of an Interim Director of People & Culture.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced People leader who is experienced and enjoys operating at Executive level, influencing organisational direction and partnering closely with a CEO and Board through a period of transformation and growth.
The organisation employs over 800 colleagues across multiple locations and delivers vital services within the community. With a strong social purpose and ambitious plans for the future, they are seeking an experienced strategic People leader to provide executive-level support whilst a permanent appointment is secured.
You'll act as a trusted strategic partner, helping shape organisational priorities, workforce strategy, culture and leadership capability during a pivotal period in the organisation's journey.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting as part of the Executive Team, you'll provide leadership across the full people agenda whilst contributing to wider organisational strategy and decision making.

Key priorities are likely to include:
- Acting as a strategic advisor and sounding board to the CEO and Executive Team
- Supporting the organisation through a significant Target Operating Model review
- Contributing to governance and organisational effectiveness initiatives
- Developing workforce plans to address future recruitment, retention and capability challenges
- Strengthening leadership capability and organisational culture
- Providing oversight of employee engagement, communications and organisational development activity
- Building effective relationships with a diverse stakeholder group including Board members, shareholders, Trade Unions and external partners
- Supporting the successful recruitment and transition of a permanent Director of People & Culture
About You
We're keen to speak with experienced People Directors, HR Directors or senior People leaders who can demonstrate:
- Significant experience operating at Executive or Board level
- A track record of developing and delivering organisation-wide People strategies
- Strong organisational development, workforce planning and transformation experience
- Experience supporting complex stakeholder environments
- Excellent influencing and relationship-building skills
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery
