About the Role
A dynamic opportunity exists for an HR & Industrial Relations Business Partner to join Airbus Belfast Ltd HR Team, reporting to:
- HR Business Leader, Airbus Belfast
- Dotted line reporting to: Head of Social Policy & Industrial Relations (SPIR), Airbus Commercial UK
Key Focus: Ensuring the effective implementation of Airbus Belfast’s Social Policies & Industrial Relations (SPIR) strategy—a critical role to maintain high performance and consistency across HR policies. This position includes:
- Leading HR policy development and delivery
- Supporting decision-making for HR Business Partners and business managers
- Providing Employee Relations expertise
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Collaboration
- Partner with the Head of HR (Belfast) and the Head of Social Policy & Industrial Relations (UK)
- Align HR strategy with local and national business goals to drive optimal performance

Industrial Relations & Negotiations
- Key stakeholder in union consultations and negotiations to build collaborative and solution-focused relationships
Northern Ireland Policy Excellence
- Set, develop, and implement HR policies tailored to NI legislation
- Stay ahead by engaging with specialist Employment Law forums
- Work closely with external legal advisors
Empowerment & Education
- Offer expert management guidance on complex HR cases
- Ensure detailed understanding of case management components
Security Clearance
- Subject to BPSS & Export Control checks (includes criminal record verification)
About You
We seek an critical HR specialist adept at blending operational rigor with corporate strategy. Your abilities must match these must-haves:
Core Requirements
- CIPD Certification (or equivalent industry experience)
- HR Generalist Background: Strong experience in HR policies, procedures, and tool management
- Employee Relations: Hands-on expertise in addressing complex ER issues and collaborating with unions
- Employment Law Knowledge: Proficiency with general employment law + commitment to master Northern Ireland-specific regulations
- Exceptional Communication: Superior interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills at all management levels
- Proactive Leadership: Strong organisational & project management inclination with autonomy to drive key initiatives
