About the Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Manager to lead the delivery of a professional, compliant and people-focused HR function. You will oversee the full employee lifecycle, support organisational objectives through strategic HR initiatives, and provide expert guidance to managers across the organisation.
Duties will include:
- Managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to performance management and offboarding.
- Providing expert advice on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence cases.
- Leading, developing and supporting the HR and payroll team to deliver an outstanding internal service.
- Ensuring HR policies and procedures remain compliant with current employment legislation and safeguarding requirements.
- Promoting employee wellbeing and supporting initiatives that improve engagement, retention and career development.
- Working with managers to build leadership capability through coaching, training and practical HR guidance.
- Supporting organisational change programmes, including restructures and workforce planning activities.
- Leading equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives and producing relevant reporting.
- Overseeing HR systems, payroll integration and data accuracy while driving continuous process improvements.
- Preparing management information and reports for senior leaders and Governors.
- Supporting audit activity, regulatory inspections and governance requirements.
- Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring compliance with GDPR and other statutory obligations.

About the Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have proven experience in a generalist HR management role, strong knowledge of UK employment law and experience handling complex employee relations matters. You will be an effective people leader with excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills. CIPD Level 5 qualification is an advantage, with experience of HR systems and data management highly desirable. Experience within education would be advantageous but not essential. Line management experience would be advantageous but not essential.
