Are you an experienced HR generalist looking for a varied, standalone role where you can genuinely make an impact?
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established international organisation for an experienced Human Resources Manager to join the business on a 9-month fixed-term contract. What you'll be doing
As the sole HR professional supporting a UK workforce of around 50 employees, you'll take responsibility for all aspects of HR including:
- Acting as the trusted HR advisor to senior leadership and managers
- Managing employee relations cases including performance, grievance, disciplinary and absence management
- Supporting organisational change and employee engagement initiatives
- Leading recruitment activities from attraction through to onboarding
- Managing the monthly payroll process (using ADP) ensuring deadlines are met accurately
- Overseeing HR administration, employee records and HR systems
- Managing employee benefits including pensions, healthcare and life assurance
- Supporting annual salary reviews and workforce planning
- Coordinating performance management, learning & development and succession planning
- Partnering with an international HR team to implement wider HR initiatives within the UK

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
