HR Manager (Part-Time)
Food Manufacturing - Family-Owned Business
Northampton & Wellingborough - Office Based
Approximately 2.5 Days Per Week (Flexible Working Pattern)
Up to £45,000 Pro Rata + Company Benefits
SP Exec is partnering with a successful, well-established family-owned food manufacturing business to recruit an experienced HR Manager to lead the company's people function.
As the business's dedicated HR professional, you'll work closely with the Operations Director and leadership team, taking ownership of all aspects of HR. This is a varied standalone role, combining strategic HR planning with hands-on operational support to help attract, develop and retain a high-performing workforce.
The role is based across two sites in Northampton and Wellingborough, so occasional local travel between sites will be required.
The Role
As the company's dedicated HR professional, you'll be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Partnering with the leadership team to support organisational growth and workforce planning.
- Managing the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process across all areas of the business.
- Building effective recruitment channels and relationships with external partners where appropriate.
- Providing expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence management.
- Conducting investigations and supporting formal HR processes where required.
- Reviewing, developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures in line with current employment legislation.
- Coordinating the performance review process while supporting learning, development and succession planning initiatives.
- Maintaining HR records, employee contracts, probation reviews and supporting payroll administration.
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, GDPR and HR best practice.
- Promoting employee engagement, wellbeing and a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
- Working closely with operational managers to support attendance management, return-to-work processes and a safe working environment.

About You
You'll be an experienced HR professional who enjoys working in a standalone, generalist role and is confident providing practical, commercially focused HR support across all levels of the business.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience in a generalist HR management position.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing employee relations cases from start to finish.
- Experience leading recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee development initiatives.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the confidence to influence and coach managers.
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG or a similar operational environment would be advantageous.
