Human Resources Manager

HR Manager £65,000 - £70,000 Per Annum | Manchester

Macmillan Davies are partnering with a global professional services firm to recruit a HR Manager. This pivotal role will focus on coaching and upskilling managers in day-to-day HR matters across business services teams, while providing expert oversight for complex or high-risk cases. Ensuring consistency and compliance, this position enables a stronger emphasis on value-added HR initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic People Support

  • Partner with leaders and managers to deliver practical HR advice that supports business objectives and upholds organisational values.
  • Lead workforce planning and resourcing, including recruitment support, interviewing training, and feedback process improvement.

Talent & Engagement Leadership

  • Oversee onboarding to deliver a positive, consistent experience for new hires.
  • Shape the strategic talent agenda, embedding fair people practices and driving HR initiatives with strong engagement.

Performance & Policy Management

  • Lead the annual salary review process, collaborating with senior stakeholders to ensure fair, transparent, and commercially sound outcomes.
  • Enhance employee relations capability by coaching managers in performance, probation, and conduct management.
  • Support family leave processes, ensuring compliance and optimal employee experience.

Case Management & Process Improvement

  • Handle and support complex employee relations cases, prioritising fairness, timeliness, and thorough documentation.
  • Improve exit processes, analysing leaver insights to identify retention themes and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Maintain HR policies and updates, ensuring alignment with business needs.

Collaboration & Efficiency

  • Work closely with HR teams across shared services, payroll, resourcing, L&D, and occupational health to deliver cohesive HR support.
  • Identify and drive HR process improvements, enhancing self-service capacity.

About You

Experience & Specialisms

  • HR Generalist/HR Business Partner (HRBP) experience within professional or corporate services.
  • Proven track record in improving HR service delivery and strengthening managerial capability through training and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, employee relations, and case management.
  • Expertise in coaching managers on performance, capability, and probation issues.
  • Experience supporting wellbeing, attendance, and workplace adjustments across the employee lifecycle.
