HR Partner
Location: Altrincham hours: Part-time – 3 or 4 days per week (3 days on site) Remuneration: Competitive salary plus benefits
Medlock Partners are partnering with a growing, family-run organisation to recruit an HR Partner to join their team on a part-time basis. This is an exceptional opportunity for a hands-on HR professional to drive key operational and strategic functions while supporting business growth, delivering pragmatic HR advice, and enhancing people practices organisation-wide.
Within a supportive and collaborative environment, you will have a vital role in shaping the company’s vision while working closely with senior leadership to develop HR strategies that align with long-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Advisory
- Serve as the first point of contact for both managers and employees, providing practical, commercially-focused HR advice.
- Lead and manage complex employee relations cases, including:
- Disciplinary hearings
- Grievances
- Performance management
- Absence management
- Ensure full compliance with UK employment legislation and internal policies.
- Build strong relationships with line managers, offering coaching and fostering people management capability.

Recruitment, Onboarding & HR Operations
- Support the full recruitment process, including:
- Drafting job descriptions
- Co-coordinating interviews
- Processing job offers
- Assisting with placement programmes
- Deliver a positive, structured onboarding experience.
- Maintain accurate HR records (complying with GDPR), including tracking employee details, contractual changes, and other data-related tasks.
- Provide payroll support with precise starter/leaver information and contractual updates.
People Development & Strategic Initiatives
- Oversee annual people processes, such as:
- Performance appraisals
- Salary reviews
- Succession planning
- Contribute to HR policy development, revisions, and employee communications materials.
- Support HR projects aimed at:
- System improvements
- Wellbeing initiatives
- Employee engagement activities
- Benefits programme enhancement
- Drive opportunities that support organisational growth and continuous improvement.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Generalist HR Advisor, HR Partner, or HR Manager, ideally in an SME or fast-paced commercial setting.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and its practical applications.
- Indeependently manage a variety of employee relations cases.
- Experience supporting organisational change, such as restructures, redundancy processes, or structural transformations.
- Ability to work autonomously with a varied workload and tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., Breathe, Workday, HR Job Writer Plus) and producing accurate HR reports.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with influence to build trust across all organisational levels.
- CIPD qualification (Preferred, but may consider candidates working toward accreditation).
