We collaborate with colleagues and partners to uphold our Global Human Rights Policy, delivering due diligence consistent with international standards. This work identifies risks, mitigates harm, and aims to positively impact society.
As Human Rights Program Manager, you will:
- Drive HPE’s commitment to human rights in operations and supply chains.
- Support programmatic impacts—addressing persistent challenges and fostering structural change.
- Strengthen stakeholder relationships (internal and external) to advance objectives.
You’ll report to the Director, Global Human Rights in HPE’s Global Social and Environmental Responsibility (Global SER) team, within the Ethics & Compliance Office (part of the Office of Legal and Administrative Affairs).
Responsibilities
This role focuses on human rights due diligence in HPE’s operations and value chain, with opportunities to engage broadly across other programs. Key responsibilities include:

Core Responsibilities
- Manage and develop cross-functional, cross-regional human rights due diligence programs, particularly in:
- Responsible Technology Use
- Stakeholder engagement strategies
- Expansion of human rights work in sales partner channels
- Advancing AI ethics initiatives
- Develop and maintain standards for HPE’s human rights program, including:
- Strategising advancements in engagement and reporting
- Assessing readiness for emerging regulations
- Progressing HPE’s roadmap on human rights
- Lead impact assessments across the entire value chain
- Monitor and report on human rights metrics/business targets internally and externally
- Collaborate with industry groups, NGOs, and rights-holder representatives
- Support global teams and partners worldwide (occasional non-business-hours work for time-zone alignment)
Requirements
Education and Experience
- First-level university degree or equivalent experience (advanced degrees preferred)
- Three or more years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of advanced education + experience
Key Knowledge and Skills
- Subject-matter expertise in business and human rights, including:
- Fundamental understanding/inpplication of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs)
- Knowledge of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
- Awareness of emerging corporate human rights risks and solutions
- Key competencies:
- Strong research, analytics, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in workplace tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Robust project and team management abilities
- Database/data analytics experience
- Ability to learn quickly and innovate in complex settings

Desirable Qualities
- Experience implementing/error-measuring UNGPS-aligned human rights programs
- Participation in industry leaders in the human rights space
- Knowledge of responsible technology policies and AI ethics
- Experience managing stakeholder engagement and facilitating civil society alliances
- Advanced degree in human rights, business, corporate responsibility, or public policy
- Presentation and technology/sector experience
