Humanities Teacher

Humanities Teacher | Specialist School | September 2026 Start

We are supporting a specialist independent school in Outer London in the appointment of a Humanities Teacher to join from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed Humanities Teacher to join a nurturing and highly structured environment where a Humanities Teacher will play a key role in shaping engaging, accessible learning. The successful Humanities Teacher will be joining a team that values consistency, creativity, and strong relationships.

The school is a well-regarded independent specialist setting supporting neurodivergent young people with a primary diagnosis of autism.

The Role | Humanities Teacher

  • Position: Humanities Teacher (History, Geography & Religious Education)
  • Location: Barnet
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Salary: M1-M6 Outer London

The Ideal Humanities Teacher

We are looking for a teacher who:

Essential:

  • Holds QTS
  • Has experience teaching Humanities at secondary level
  • Can confidently deliver across KS3 (KS2/KS4 experience beneficial)
  • Has strong subject knowledge across History, Geography and/or RE
  • Is committed to inclusive education and student wellbeing
  • Demonstrates strong classroom management and relationship-building skills

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a SEND or specialist setting
  • Familiarity with autism-informed or trauma-informed approaches
  • Experience teaching GCSE Humanities
