A Little More About Your Role…
We are seeking a Project Manager (HV/EHV) to join our UK Transmission and Distribution (T&D) team.
Our T&D team delivers electrical power projects at transmission and distribution voltage levels. This role involves managing pre-construction and construction activities—from design to energisation—of large-scale high-voltage infrastructure and grid connections. Projects will typically range from 33kV to 400kV voltage levels and include feasibility studies, detailed design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of existing or new substations along with related infrastructure.
responsibilities
- Develop HV projects (up to and including 20kV) into compliant, cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Project manage the development and delivery of small/medium HV projects (cables, plant, and civil) within defined timeframes, budgets, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
- Interface with customers, internal teams, and external resources to drive project delivery.
- Act as CDM (Construction Design and Management Act) Designer and/or Principal Designer for HV projects.
- Communicate effectively with internal engineering and industrial teams.
- Coordinate external service providers, manage commercial relationships, and administer contracts.

requirements
- Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience working on HV substation projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution plant items, operations, controls, and systems, such as:
- Switchgear
- Protection systems
- Power transformers
- Underground power cables
- Solid grasp of H&S (Health & Safety) and CDM requirements, including a demonstrated ability to uphold the role of Designer and/or Principal Designer under CDM regulations.
- Competence to interpret technical documentation for electrical substation design.
- Flexibility to travel as needed for project requirements.
