About the Role
We’re seeking a Project Manager (HV/EHV) to join our UK Transmission and Distribution (T&D) team, supporting electrical power projects at transmission and distribution voltage levels (typically 33kV–400kV). This role involves project managing pre-construction and construction activities, from design to energisation, including:
- Feasibility, detailed design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning
- Substation development for both existing and new infrastructure
Your Responsibilities
You’ll deliver critical energy infrastructure with precision and drive:
- Develop HV project initial requirements (up to 20kV) into cost-effective, compliant engineering solutions.
- Project manage small/medium HV projects (cable, plant, civil) while adhering to time, cost, safety, and quality standards.
- Manage customer relationships and coordinate internal/external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Assume responsibilities as CDM Designer or Principal Designer for projects.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and industrial partners to streamline workflows.
- Administer commercial aspects, including external service provider coordination.

What We Look for in You
Minimum Qualifications
- HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in HV/substation projects
Essential Skills & Experience
✔ HV substation project experience, including familiarity with:
- Switchgear, protection systems, transformers, and underground power cables ✔ Strong H&S (Health & Safety) and CDM knowledge, including:
- Ability to fulfil roles as Designer or Principal Designer under CDM regulations ✔ Technical documentation interpretation for substation design ✔ Flexible travel availability as project demands
