HVAC Commissioning Engineer

Location: Chorley (Travel required)

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000pa depending on experience

At Urmson (part of the HSL Compliance Group), we don’t just install systems; we ensure they perform exactly as designed.

As a Commissioning Engineer, you are the face of the company and the final line of technical assurance. You will be responsible for ensuring that complex HVAC and water systems meet rigorous industry standards, providing the critical bridge between installation and a happy client.

What You’ll Be Doing

Execute full commissioning of air and water systems in strict accordance with current CIBSE Codes. Lead domestic water system balancing, ensuring optimal flow and thermal performance across the network. Perform professional set-up and validation of Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMV) to ensure user safety and regulatory compliance. Generate accurate test sheets, handover certificates, and engineer work reports in a timely manner. Lead system demonstrations for clients and consultants, explaining technical performance and ensuring all project requirements are met. Act as the primary company representative on-site, ensuring all commissioning activities are completed on time and within budget. Participate in company training programs to stay ahead of evolving HVAC technologies and standards.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in the commissioning of HVAC air and water systems, with a deep understanding of CIBSE guidelines. Relevant mechanical or building services qualifications (CSCS card is essential). Ability to produce clear, professional technical reports and checklists that withstand consultant scrutiny. A commitment to promoting a professional company image and treating colleagues and clients with the highest level of respect. This role involves travel and occasional overnight stays to meet project deadlines across our regional and national portfolio. A full UK driving license is required for this mobile position.
