About the Company

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the UK nuclear sector for an experienced HVAC Engineer. This opportunity offers involvement in complex safety-critical projects from design through commissioning as part of a growing multidisciplinary engineering team.

About the Role

The HVAC Engineer is responsible for delivering HVAC and process ventilation engineering design solutions that meet technical specifications, nuclear safety requirements and project programme. The role supports projects from concept through installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop HVAC and process ventilation designs
  • Produce engineering calculations, reports and design documentation
  • Review and approve discipline-specific deliverables
  • Participate in design reviews and nuclear safety reviews
  • Ensure timely delivery of quality documentation
  • Develop cost-effective engineering solutions
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear legislation, standards and regulations
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers
  • Manage engineering subcontractors
  • Provide technical consultancy
  • Undertake site surveys and commissioning support

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar, or equivalent experience

Required Skills

  • Previous experience within the UK nuclear industry
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, containment and process ventilation systems
  • Experience delivering engineering design solutions
  • Understanding of nuclear safety case requirements
  • Knowledge of UK safety legislation and statutory regulations
  • Experience leading design teams and managing subcontractors
  • Experience in engineering substantiation and bid preparation
  • Excellent communication, organisational and commercial awareness
  • Ability to obtain UK security clearance

Preferred Skills

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards Chartership
  • Membership of a recognised engineering institution
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Pay range and compensation package

Permanent position, Hybrid working, Right to work in the UK required, Security clearance may be required.
