HWRC Site Operative - South Kirkby
Salary: £24,640 per annum
Shift pattern: 4 on/4 off, averaging 33.63 hours per week
Hours:
- Monday - Saturday 07:30 - 17:30
- Sunday 08:00 - 17:00
- Late Night 07:45 - 20:15
The main purpose of the role is to deliver a high level of customer service to site users as well as ensuring a high level of health and safety compliance is maintained at all times.
Your key responsibilities:
- Providing excellent levels of customer service to members of the public, assisting and advising them on how to use the site effectively and safely
- Ensure segregation of different waste streams into appropriate containers to maximize the recovery of materials
- Ensure hazardous waste is separated and stored appropriately
- Ensure a high level of housekeeping is maintained and that the site is clean and tidy at all times
- Keep all equipment clean and maintained to ensure a safe working environment
- Control traffic flows are managed to ensure a safe operation
- Identify and report any defects on site following the defect reporting procedure
- Follow all risk assessments and safe operating procedures that are relevant to the post
- Report all non-compliance's and breaches of site rules following reporting systems
- Ensures contract runs in compliance with internal and external safety / environmental / permit / planning processes and procedures, as well as any contract requirements
- Must be willing to learn other skills and attend training courses to aid service continuity

Essential criteria for this role:
- Good communication and listening skills
- Takes pride in providing high levels of customer service
- Demands high standards of themselves and others and is able to translate this into high quality, high pace output
- Ability to build and maintain strong, cohesive relationships at all levels
- Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance
