Part-Time Lecturer (Motor Vehicle/EV/Hydrogen) – 18.5 hrs per week
Salary
- £28,273 to £42,655 pro-rata, per annum
- Market Premium: Up to £5,000 pro-rata, per annum (reviewed annually for eligible candidates)
The Role
As a lecturer in Motor Vehicle, you’ll drive innovation and quality in the Technical Centre’s EV, Hybrid, and emerging vehicle technologies programmes. Your work will focus on:
Core Responsibilities
- Designing, delivering, and refining EV/Hybrid commercial training programmes and bootcamps
- Supporting evening delivery as required
- Developing bespoke training solutions for employers AND individual learners
- Collaborating with the Business Development Manager to achieve commercial growth targets
- Partnering with the Lead Tutor for HEAT (Hydrogen and Emerging Technologies) to pioneer curriculum development in:
- Electric vehicles
- Hydrogen technologies
- Other emerging sectors
- Building/badging local and national employer partnerships to maximize provision opportunities
- Ensuring high student retention, pass rates, and pastoral support
- Guiding curriculum design, quality assurance, and continuous improvement

Requirements & Market Premium Eligibility
To qualify for the market premium, successful candidates must meet all of the following:
✔ Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification ✔ Two days annual CPD (Continuing Professional Development) in industry experience ✔ Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair & Replacement ✔ MOT tester/manager course completed (or working towards it) ✔ Level 1 Award in Hydrogen Vehicle Awareness (or working towards it)
