About the Opportunity
The water sector is expanding like never before, with increased focus on sustainability, resilience, and innovation. Jacobs is expanding its Hydraulic Engineering teams nationwide to support leading UK water companies—United Utilities, Thames Water, Northumbrian Water, Severn Trent Water, and Anglian Water.
As part of Jacobs, you’ll work end-to-end across project lifecycles:
- Feasibility and design
- Construction and delivery
- Project areas include:
- Water/wastewater treatment facilities
- Pumping stations
- Pressurised/gravity pipelines
- Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs)
- Reservoirs and intakes
- Bioresource infrastructure
- Major Design & Build programmes
You’ll thrive in a collaborative culture where innovation is valued, career growth is prioritised, and development is proactive.
What You’ll Need
To excel in this role:
- UK water industry experience
- Strong hydraulic engineering and design knowledge
- Proficiency in software:
- HADES
- WinHydro
- SWMM (or similar)
- Clear technical communication skills
- Professional accreditation:
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or
- Active pursuit of professional qualification
- (For senior roles) Leadership experience in hydraulic studies and mentorship
